Our terroir

A formidable combination of terroirs that synthesizes the strong characteristics of both banks of the Garonne river.

One remarkable aspect of our vineyard is its exposure on the hillside.

The orientation from South-East to South-West allows the vines to benefit from the sun all day long.

The vineyard is planted with an average density of 5200 stocks per hectare and our vines are about 35 years old.

It is composed of different grape varieties : 53% of Merlot,  Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and a little bit of Malbec and Petit Verdot.

Our vineyard has got the particularity to combine the terroir of the right bank of Bordeaux area (limestone-clay) and the left bank’s one (loamy-clay)

on one single property. This range of soils is favorable to the quality and complexity of our wines and gives to Haut Peyrat some similarities with the more renown Great wines from Bordeaux's area.

These pictures illustrate the diversity and richness of our terroir.
