Tasting

2020 is sending a clear message about what the quality and the identity of Château Haut Peyrat is. Just poured in the glass it lets appeared a deep garnet color, intense and brilliant The first nose leaves no doubt about its complexity: little black fresh fruits aromas, supported by minty notes, undergrowth and spices aromas. At the first sip its digestibility is surprising, binding freshness and roundness, thanks to the cabernets meeting the greediness of the merlot. We note its powerful and well blended tannins, participating, with its intense aromatic, to a nice persistence in mouth.

Sommelier’s advice

Château Haut Peyrat 2020 is the ideal wine to go with a meal. It will marry perfectly with every sauce dishes, traditional or spicy, a risotto, a  mushroom omelet or a cheeses plate. In dessert it will highlight the chocolate flavors and red fruits.

This wine can already be appreciated today for the freshness of its fruit, or after a few years of aging in bottle to enjoy the evolution of its “bouquet”. We find in 2020 a vintage as exceptional as 2016, which promises a beautiful aging potential, until 10 years.
